Note as with any electrical work it’s recommended to disconnect the battery.
*Please note, currently the ST Projector Puddle light units are based off of the previous generations incandescent puddle light sizes. This is due to the length needed to project the logo in a clear and crisp design. Furthermore, this has resulted in the driver side mirror bracket to hit the top of the unit causing the puddle light not to sit perfectly flush in the driver side mirror.
Take note of puddle lights marked with ‘L’ and ‘R’ and replace accordingly to ‘left’ and ‘right’.
- Insert a small flat head screwdriver at a 45degree angle. Pry in towards the center of the light and down to release clip.
- Once puddle light is retrieved from housing disconnect terminals.
- Connect the terminals to your new ST Projector Puddle light. Test light by opening the vehicles door or unlocking the vehicle by its key fob to make sure terminals are correct, if ST Projector Puddle light does not light up, reverse terminal connections and retry.
- Adjust top screw to position logo in the desired direction. It will be helpful to slide the puddle light unit into the mirror without fully snapping into place. This will allow you to test the angle of the projected logo. (Small movements go a long way)
- Once positioned correctly seal screw hole from moisture with included watertight caps.
- For re-installation of passenger ST Projector Puddle light, slide back clip in over ridge. Slide main clip through its opening until it snaps in. In some cases, you may need to push the clip up with the flat head to pop into place.
- For re-installation on driver side ST Projector Puddle light, First attempt to slide back clip over the ridge and insert main clip through its opening. Use a small flat head to pry the main clip up and into housing (see video below). If above doesn’t work, slide main clip through its opening without snapping into place. Then push back clip over ridge to snap the clip into place. Finally, you may push the main clip fully into its opening until main clip snaps into its recessed location. In some cases, you may need to push the clip up with the flat head to pop into place.
